Welcome to my site
My passion for photography and Wildlife in particular has taken me to a range of destinations from 80 degrees North in the Arctic circle through Europe, Asia, the America's, Africa and more recently Antarctica. Each location has given me something unique but unquestionably Antarctica is special. In truth the wildlife is limited in comparison to other areas such as The Falkland Islands, Yellowstone Park in the USA or Tanzania in Africa particularly, but the landscape, glaciers, huge Icebergs, silence and peacefulness of the area will take your breath away if the cold hasn't already done that.
In a photographic sense many genres harness the skills you need to become at least competent as a photographer. With Wildlife you need to have good fieldcraft to consistently get an image and with sport (my other passion) its hard to get an image of worth if you don't understand what might happen next. All the skills gained in taking great sports images will support you in your quest for a great wildlife image and never be frightened of bad weather, snow or grey stormy skies can turn an average image into a very satisfying image.
Wildlife Conservation is extremely important to me and I believe that photography conducted in the right way can support and bring about awareness otherwise difficult to convey in speech alone. I have linked Organisations to this site that are of particular interest to me whilst the photographers are seriously good at story telling through their imagery.
